At the same time, the basic intention was to create a vivid place, where all the museum&#8217;s information will provide a strong motivation for the public to understand, participate and appreciate all aspects of athletism (physical training, health, mental balance, history).\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"hps\">Specifically<\/span>, the <span class=\"hps\">Olympic<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Museum&#8217;s goal<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">is the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"hps\">preservation<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of our<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">sporting<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">heritage<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">promotion of the cultural<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">side of all<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">sports.<\/span> These goals <span class=\"hps\">are met<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in practice<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">through<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">exhibitions<\/span>, presentations, educational programmes and other interesting events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>For 2014, Gamecraft has<span class=\"hps\"> designed and implemented<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a<\/span> R<span class=\"hps\">ole Playing Game<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">about the history<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and values<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of the Olympic Games<\/span><\/strong> <span class=\"hps\">in co-operation<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">with<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the Olympic<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Museum of Thessaloniki<\/span>. The <strong>&#8216;Immortal Travelers&#8217;<\/strong> edu-LARP is <span class=\"hps\">performed<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in groups of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">16-20<\/span> participants, stands as an educational program, providing useful information of the Olympic Games timeline by focusing on the institution&#8217;s good and bad historical moments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I<span class=\"hps\">mmortal<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Travelers<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nIt is<span class=\"hps\"> the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">year<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">2096,<\/span> just <span class=\"hps\">before the Olympic<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Games in Athens<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">200 years<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">after the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">opening of the Olympic<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Games<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">modern era<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">The Committee<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of the Immortals<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in its effort to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">restore the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">fragile<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">world peace,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">undertakes a<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">mission<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to remind<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">heads of state about\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"hps\">the values<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of Olympism<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">The only way<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to achieve this, is\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"hps\">through a time trip.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Will they be able<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to<\/span> bring the <span class=\"hps\">Olympic<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Truce<\/span> to task <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">save<\/span> our <span class=\"hps\">planet from<\/span> the <span class=\"hps\">impending war<\/span>?<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Olympic Museum\" href=\"http:\/\/olympicmuseum-thessaloniki.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=79&amp;Itemid=219&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">Thessalloniki Olympic Museum Website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE MUSEUM The foundation purpose for the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki\u00a0was to reflect the sporting history of the country, by filling the vacuity and absence of similar athletic museums in Greece.
